Word Spill: Tracks by *Medoriko:iconMedoriko:

It appears to be so...
Only when people realize
That there is something to behold, discover
A hard surface to walk on
Do their eyes open
Beautifully aware
But happily ignorant
Skipping across the tracks
Pleasantly Ignoring the sound of
That speeding train behind them...

They continue
And Simply take it all in
Seeing that we are all people
One living, breathing
Damned society
And there she is
She, being just one
Catastrophe
Laid out, mangled
Blown to bits between the train tracks
Crushed by the heavy weight of steel tires
Breaking up the earth below
She simply lays where she had fallen
With hands of stone
As heavy as the thumping heart
In her chest.
There was no one to catch her...
And not enough ground to swallow her up
No lessons to be learned

And in that moment, She was pure
Only in the sense that She was untouched
By another human heart
But she never really believed in fairy tales
Even when she was no taller than a table top
Balancing on one peg, one truth
In which only she knew
As she curled up to protect herself
From the sound of whistles, and break squeals
Louder than anything she had ever heard
Yet so silent, that she could hear her tears
That gathered from the corner of her eyes
From inevitable heart break
As they hit the cold metal beneath
And floated away to nowhere.
Her time had finally come.

It has been awhile since I last posted any poetry. Mainly because I had been busy with midterms and other things of that nature. So I'm very pleased to have finished this one I had been working on for awhile. I was in an odd mood writing and finishing it so I hope you all like it. :) Comment~

This has a very grim concept that makes it so appealing, I like it. :+fav:

Where to start?

Well, let me begin by saying you haven't gotten rusty, that much is guaranteed. You've still got your gift of words, and word play. By starting the poem on a such an innocent note (keep in mind, that's until the last 2 lines of the first stanza), it might open a few eyes.

Then, back to the innocence in stanza 2 until we welcome back the 'innocent Catastrophe' (if I may call her that) and see her once more under the light of pain of train tracks.

Finally, stanza 3 seals and steals the reader's attention, with the 'innocence' then returns to the 'innocence Catastrophe' theme that was common and consistent the whole way though. ;)

Amazing job, well done. ;) I'm impressed again. :) :+fav:

 Thank you so much. I see you really looked into it. I hope the theme of "tracks" came through as well. Not necessarily just train tracks, but also from being stuck on "tracks" of life and being run over by the "train" in life. I'm very happy you like it :)
