Well, this is it guys! HaikuWriMo has come and gone, in a flash :omg: I have to admit, it was a struggle this year compared to last year. I think I had a lot going on, so it kind of killed my usual flow of inspiration BUT I managed to do all 28 poems -- so I'm okay with this  At any rate, please give these guys some love, maybe give a comment or two with that favorite. :giggle: Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to view this feature, as it helps put some eyes on these wonderful poets below. :blowkiss:

Transition (Tanka)Transition
28-02-18
The world always turns.
As life phases in and out,
What was dead renews
And what was old becomes new;
As life changes, we adapt.
TransitionQuite a different smile
'twas not out of innocence
Swaying graceful hips
Glances of a curious kind
No longer was she a child
TransitionWaxing, waning moon
Sun dancing from east to west
Clock’s ticking countdown
Humans are like butterflies
Life is short, so enjoy it
transitionold winter dying
summer breathing down spring's neck
nature comes alive
rose roots are sending up canes
green thorns harden new leaves grow

ThunderstrikeThunder strikes deep
Fire fanned into a fury
My heart overcome
HaikuWriMo Day 28spring was born from the
sunrise -- warm remains
after a frosted evening.
iceboundThe mountain quaked beneath us, topsy-turvy clouds gathering overhead. Trickling water from the valley was icebound and the squalling wind rang hard in my ears, my hands, my feet. My first thought was that this might be nothing more than a frozen wasteland and then you touched my shoulder, motioned for me to turn around. The sky was alight, awash in aquamarine and glowing. It was there that we joined hands; stared up and away, ignoring the arctic chill and enjoyed the view.
We survived the cold
and through the wild storms we are
better together
23Icy rain; I curl
into the warmth from my cup
of chamomile tea

Sterile rods of light, o'er dust
Covered concrete reign
Day 26I choke on the flowers
that is clawing up my throat,
begging for sunlight

I agree that it was a struggle some days (it’s just been one of those months... ) but I enjoyed the challenge and I think everyone involved produced great pieces! Thanks for including my work in every feature!
